How sad to find this blog -- and indeed, Joseph Hansen's books -- after his death. However, reading the posts, I'm comforted.
I'm so glad that his last thoughts will survive him, along with his wonderful books and short stories.

I'm not Blog savy. In fact, this is my first posting to something that seems to be like an exercise in cyberspace stream of consciousness where often the postings have little to do with the title or them of the Blog (at least my expereince thusfar). In any event, I'm in the midst of reading, with great alcrity, the Dave Brandstetter mysteries for a second time. For many reasons that are probably out of bounds here or of little interest to most who may read this posting, I wonder who has the rights to the works? I've a keen interest in fostering their deliverance, in a style giving due homage to Mr. Hansen's own, to the screen - be it small box or big screen. Any help in ascertaining that status would be appreciated.

Dear Mr. Thomas J. Ringers
Thank you for helping Joe Hansen in his last words. It is such a marvelous final statement by a treasured author. After decades of working and developing writing skills until Joe was nearly 50 years old, we had many decades of articulate reports of the human condition in the form of mysteries. The people in his novels were warm and concerned for each other. In everything Joe wrote (and did) there was kindness, generosity. His later stories are gems.
My greatest sorrow is that I did not find the blogs sooner, I would so have wished to share my joy with him. Fortunately we did have a few exchanged letters in the ‘80’s, so a bit of gratitude got through. 06/06/30
